I first came across TBH about a month ago.
Quickly tried out the platform, it's not for me, I don't have time, and it's for kids but it was popular enough for Facebook to buy.
--- Reports say under $100 million
🤓 Today, I just discovered LIES, an app that is similar to TBH but it's a trivia game where you try to guess the one true fact about a friend amongst an array of fibs.
Both these apps are targeted at Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers and remind me of games we played as kids before social media.
🔸 Girls would make a list of the best looking guys or make lists of who has the best shoes etc.
🔹 Guys would make lists of the best athletes or the prettiest girls.
With apps like these, the process of categorizing people and making basic judgments is easy. It's no wonder TBH and LIES are exploding in the younger generations.
❓ But, polling like this has been around forever so what makes these apps so successful?
